Dear text,

Happy New Year! We hope you are all keeping warm and are not missing compressed air too much! The Third Coast Divers and Michigan Lake Diver's Association are keeping very active over the winter, with lots of river diving going on. Get in touch with their members if you would like to get some winter dives in too.

We have just launched our new online store, we have lots of new stock in our real store, lots of used rental equipment on special and several trips planned for later in the year, so we hope to see you soon!

This month we are most excited about our ice diving class and the Great Lakes Shipwreck Festival - see below for further details. Later in 2010 we are looking forward to our April trip to Costa Rica, getting The Great Lakes Diver back in the water (and our early season trip to Thunder Bay) and The Ultimate Diver Challenge on the beautiful island of Cozumel during July. Don't be a stranger!

New Online Shop

If you haven't already seen it you will notice that we now have an online store (and a slightly revised website): Bruno's Dive Shop . We are not attempting to have everything online in an effort to compete with Leisure Pro - the idea is that we will have items up on the website which are on closeout or as part of a special online package. The aim will be to provide you guys with some limited offer gear at value prices. There are a few items already online and there will be more coming soon:

Try SCUBA @ Cobo

Inline

The Great Lakes Outdoor Recreation Expo at Cobo Hall will have DEMA's Be A Diver pool for people to try SCUBA at the show. A couple of our instructors will be running the classes at the expo over the weekend of February 20th/21st (with instructors from a couple of other local dive centers) so if you have any family or friends that have never dived but would like to give it a go, this is a great opportunity. Entry to the show is $11 and we believe the Try Dives are free.

Great Lakes Shipwreck Festival

Inline

The Ford Seahorses 29th Annual Great Lakes Shipwreck Festival is scheduled for Saturday, 27th February. This is a great show and at $15 in advance , tickets are really good value considering the excellent line-up of speakers. We have a booth reserved in the exhibition hall and will be giving away lots of free stuff (Great Lakes Diver charters, T-Shirts ...) so come down and say hi in between a couple of presentations. I am hoping to catch Ralph Wilbanks' talk on The Hunley and Luke Clyburn's River Channels.
